Spinning plates

Spinning plates. I’ve got a number of projects on the boil, and the plates are spinning. Not only my plates but the plates of the home and family. Then the plates of the pets, including chickens 😂

As a proud ADHDer, I seem to quite like adding plates. Like the eight books beside my bed, that each have a little dog mark half way through. 🤪

And often my brain thinks; “man, I wish I didn’t have so many plates 🥵”. Yet what I’ve realised is, I am the performer adding them in. There are plates we have to spin, and plates that if we don’t spin them, life is worse. But sometimes, we have plates we add for initial novelty, then realise “I don’t really want this plate anymore”.

So my friends, I’m returning the eight books to the library (as I already have study to complete), I’m clearing the ‘buffet of life’ to only include the plates that really matter. An exercise I do regularly (which may help you) is to do the following:
1. Put three columns on a page
2. Mark down plates for important me, others, novelty
3. Note down everything and categorise
4. Notice how many plates are sucking time that may not be useful

Life lesson: life can be like spinning plates, identify the ones that aren’t useful.

Keep shining x
