DIY HEALTH LIKE A DIY HAIRCUT!

It was Covid season 2022, and I was stuck at home watching Disney movies with my young children.  After being subliminally messaged by Walt, I decided to give myself a 'princess' facelift with the blonde packet dye in the cupboard.  The model on the box promised sun kissed tresses, and I was in!  As a firm DIYer, I set myself up with the hair cap, and began applying the innocent looking paste to my head.

After 30 minutes of smelling like a chemical factory, I revealed my new 'Elsa' locks with imaginary makeover, only to discover I looked like something out of a zoo that had been hit by a nuclear missile.  My hair naturally ash blonde was now orange.  Not the attractive natural orange either, more like a possum that has been sun bleached whilst rotting for ten days.  Needless to say, once our lockdown period was over, I invested in the help of a professional to repair the damage I had done, which was a lot more expensive than my $15 beauty in a box mishap..

I’ve fallen victim so many time to the ‘home haircut’, ‘home dye in a box’ disasters thinking I would save money (and end up looking like the model on the cover), only to end up paying so much more than I would have originally by just booking in with the hairdresser.  I’ve done it with weight loss too, bought the books, spent money on the programmes, the pills, the miracle wonder imaginary this and that free ways of eating, and could have save a mortgage deposit over the decades by just going to someone who could work something for me individually.  After years of failed DIY health attempts, I’ve realized that the quickest path to success is often from someone who has ‘been there, done that’ or someone who has actually trained in the skill we are seeking.

As a graduate of the University of Google, I was lost in DIY healthcare solutions and didn’t know which way was North.  But now after years of trial and error, and a whole lot education, I can confidently say “I understand where your are, and have a lot of tools to help".  You could spend years on DIY healthcare as I did.  Or you can invest in a journey of discovery to really find out how to find the balance we all seek. Maybe it is time to stop the DIY healthcare and seek solid guidance.

Save time, emotional upheaval, and invest in your journey to get the right advice.  Let's talk.

If not now, then when?
